Many people say that Valentine’s Day is a woman’s holiday, and let’s face it, in many ways this is true. Men desperately searching for that perfect piece of jewelry and scrambling to get that beautifully over-priced bouquet of flowers at the last minute. If that isn’t enough, there is the dinner, movie, or other “romantic” outing to be planned. Although sometimes it may seem selfish, dropping hints for Valentine’s Day gifts may actually be very helpful to the significant in your life.
From obvious to subtle, here are a few ways to help him find the perfect gift this Valentine’s Day!
-Send him a fun e-mail while he’s at work during the day. Sending him a personal e-mail can always be a welcomed distraction during a long day. For this instance though, why not include a link to something you want for Valentine’s Day?
-If you happen to be at the mall together, feel free to point out a few things you like or admire. It certainly couldn’t hurt (as long as you’re not too aggressive about it).
-Make a cute Valentine’s themed note with a brief list of gift ideas and slip it into his briefcase.
- Put notes inside little wrapped present boxes and leave the boxes in different places for him to find and open. You can also include small surprises in some boxes so it makes it a bit more entertaining for him. This can be as creative as you would like it to be and you could even carry it out through Valentine’s Day to tie in with your plans!
-If being blunt is your preference, then printing out pictures and circling items in a catalog will also do the trick.
-Since Pinterest has become a preferred digital outlet to express things you love and/or want, why not create a Valentine’s Day pinboard? If he has Pinterest, chances are he will see it, and if he doesn’t you could always “accidentally” leave it open before he uses the computer.
-I have saved this one for last because, in my opinion, it is the most subtle and could be the most effective. Tell a girlfriend (or a female work-associate of his) what you want. Many times when a man needs to find the perfect gift he will ask a close friend or another woman. If they know what you want and he asks, it will make things very easy for both of you!
No matter which way you choose, chances are it will relieve your significant other of a lot of stress when searching for the perfect gift this weekend. Well, as long as he can take a hint!
