UPDATE: Milla Jovovich’s Hollywood Hills Wedding!

To follow up with recent report on Milla’s wedding plans, news has it that she got married this weekend!  Milla and her now husband Paul Anderson had an intimate gathering of family and friends at their home to exchange vows on Saturday.
The two of them seemed to be truly happy during the event and couldn’t stop smiling for photographers.  Milla designed her own gown and had their daughter pose as the flower girl during the nuptials.  Despite being an nontraditional couple they chose to exchange very traditional wedding bands;  18-karat classic gold wedding bands.  Many happy wishes and years to come for the newlyweds!

Milla Jovovich Getting Married!!!

Before Milla heads off this autumn to shoot a fourth installment of Resident Evil: Afterlife,  there’s her wedding of course! Milla Jovovich is set to wed director of the “Resident” series Paul W.S. Anderson on August 22.  He proposed to Milla with a gorgeous antique engagement ring, they have been engaged for quite some time, during which they have welcomed a new addition, a daughter Ever.

They are planning small affair at their house in LA and she explains “We only decided about two weeks ago to really do it, and now we have three weeks to get it all together. I’m a little overwhelmed. I’ve got to finish the press for this film, get married, then I’m off to Toronto to kick some zombie butt.”

Sounds like an exciting and action packed fall for Milla!  She sure has really proven to be successful at balancing her role as mother and as a zombie-slayer, I have high hopes for the success of this celebrity marriage.  What kind of wedding bands to you think they will exchange?  With her style in mind, it will
be nothing short of amazing!

If you are Going to Leash the Big Dog you Better Give Him a NICE COLLAR! I’m talking about Men’s Wedding Bands!

Men's

Men's Wedding Bands Classic and Modern

Most guys probably won’t admit that they are too concerned about the style and look of their wedding band. In fact, it goes without saying that jewelry whether it is bridal or fashion has predominantly been a woman’s thing. But should it really be that way? Let’s face it the typical guy will make certain that the clothes he buys reflect his unique taste for style and design, and since every guy is different in that respect it is surprising then that so many men, when they get married, settle for a boring, no frills, plain as plain wedding band.

What happened to that stylistic sense of uniqueness? It goes back to what I said earlier about guys not being overly concerned about the type of wedding band they wear, but they are. Granted some guys truly don’t care but does that mean they have to settle for boring? No, and this is where the woman in his life has the unique opportunity to slip in and show him how a men’s designer wedding band can improve his stylistic appearance and give him the additional confidence that he needs. The best part is that he will carry it with him for the rest of his life.

Where can you find the perfect band for the man in your life? The Men’s wedding band collection by RITANI at http://www.ritani.com/products/category/15 has something for every man’s unique and distinct personality. After all he is the Big Dog, shouldn’t he stand apart from the pack?

Eternity Bands Making a Tremendous Comeback According to RITANI

PRESS RELEASE

06.08.2009 – The tradition of the eternity bands dates back as far as 2000 BC to the ancient Egyptians. Its history is closely related to that of the wedding ring — a circle of metal with no beginning and no end — the perfect symbol of everlasting love. What could be more romantic than a symbol of love with no end?

An eternity band is usually given at a significant anniversary. Many men present their wife with an eternity ring to celebrate the first year of their marriage or the birth of a first child.

The eternity band is often worn on the third finger of the left hand, the same finger as the engagement and wedding ring. Egyptians in ancient times believed that this finger contained the “vena amoris” — the vein of love, that directly runs to the heart.

Eternity rings are stone set, often with diamonds. Some people prefer ‘half eternity’ rings for practical purposes – ‘full eternity’ rings cannot be easily adjusted. Full Eternity Bands can also be uncomfortable to wear because of the depth of the shank between the fingers.

RITANI has reported that Eternity Bands have truly made a comeback in recent times and furthermore having sales skyrocket in this area. RITANI is a world renowned designer and manufacturer of Engagement Rings.

NOT your Grandpa’s Wedding Band

After my fiancée and I got engaged, we shopped around for wedding bands together.  There

were literally hundreds of wedding band options for her, but not too many options for me.  I

figure, I will be wearing this ring everyday, so I should get something I really like.  I am not one

of those guys that wear jewelry. But I wanted something that is maybe a little bit different

then your standard run- of – the- mill wedding band.

After doing a lot of internet research, I have put together a list of some of the new and

interesting wedding band options out there that may be worth looking into.  If you are like me,

you want something low maintenance, but still attractive and maybe something other than

what your friends have, and more updated than what your dad wears.

1)    Palladium wedding bands-Palladium is part of the white metal family.  Optically

palladium looks just like platinum, but is half as dense, making it much more affordable.  Many

wedding band manufactures are jumping on the bandwagon (no pun intended) and are now

making their rings in this precious metal.
2)    Textured wedding bands- A lot of the bands that I was drawn to were pretty simple

in design when it came to shape, but they would have a really cool finishing.  Some of the

bands had a hammered texture; some had a brushed metal look.  The result is a very unique

looking ring, but in a low key way.
3)    Etched wedding bands- This was another interesting detail that I noticed while I

was doing research.  Instead of just having a textured finish, there were a lot of wedding

bands that actually had a design etched into the ring—weather it was a rope looking design or

just a linear pattern.
4)    Rose Gold wedding bands- Rose gold is definitely not just for women’s jewelry.

Despite its name, most rose gold actually looks coppery and has an almost vintage feel to it.

It might be worth looking into if you like the idea of having a traditional gold wedding band,

but with a different twist.
5)    Wedding bands with diamonds- Diamond wedding bands?  For a man?  Yes, they are

not just for guys that look like Joey Butafuco anymore.  In my travels, I happened to come

across many diamond wedding bands for men that looked masculine and understated at the

same time.  Try looking for designs that feature a single channel of stones if you are new to

jewelry.
6)    Modern wedding bands- What if you can’t see yourself wearing any of the above?

Some designer jewelry lines have included very fashion forward modern looking rings.  I have

seen some rings that are designed to look like chain links, rings that look like tire treads and

even rings that are squared off instead of round.

What did I end up purchasing, you ask?  I went with a concave wedding band in palladium,

with a tooled edge and brushed finish. Here’s the link:

The designer that I purchased it from is Ritani—they have a great, user friendly website

(www.Ritani.com) and one of the largest selections of men’s wedding bands that I have come

across.  Take a look – you might just find something you really like.

What is an Eternity Band?

Being in the jewelry business one of the most common questions I get is “What is an eternity band?”  And then “Why can it not be sized?”  So I am going to take a moment and explain a few things regarding the subject.

Taken literally, eternity does mean forever.  With that in mind, the eternity band was created to show long lasting love.  Though it is beautiful it does come with its share of complications.  Once you have a band made with diamonds that go all the way around you will not be able to size it. And as we woman know, we do tend to go up and down in sizes throughout our life.  I would say it’s rare when a woman stays the same size her whole life then not.
That being said you may want to know all of your options before you purchase one.  If you have a talented jeweler you could perhaps have the band made a half size larger and have sizing beads put on the inside and if you happen to put on a few extra pounds, the beads could be taken out.   If you do not prefer sizing beads you could have a ring guard put on the inside.

Some other options include leaving out a few stones on the bottom so you can size the ring.  This works best with an eternity pave or eternity channel set ring, though you must also be careful with channel when sizing. Some jewelers will offer the option of sizing bar or three quarters of the way, and half way around.  Not only may it help with cost but you will have a better chance of sizing in the future.

Another thing to think about it the safety of your stones.  If you tend to be rough on your jewelry having an eternity band may not be the best idea. You can break and scratch the stones that are hitting against whatever hard surface.

These are just a few of the issues you may want to discuss with your jeweler before making your purchase.

Anadare Engagement Rings and Wedding Bands by Ritani

It’s winter. That’s nothing new but what is new is the next great look in designer engagement rings. It’s called the Anadare collection. The inspiration behind this new collection comes from that universal moment when two hearts meet and become intertwined as one. The unrivaled quality of these unique rings is what sets them apart from all of our other designs. From the twists in the polished shanks to the precision set pave, this collection will forever stand alone.

The most stunning attribute of the collection is the helix style twists running up and down the shank which gives each piece that signature unique look. The Anadare engagement ring will impress as much as it will inspire. Remembering the first time that I saw the first ring come out of casting I couldn’t help but do a double take. The twists were not solid as the cad rendering suggested, instead the twists are hollow! This detail is what gives the Anadare that big look but at the same time does not make the ring look too bulky. What about this economy? Today people don’t have the money to buy heavy metal rings. It’s too expensive! However they still want that big look. Anadare was designed to give the buyer the biggest look for the buck.
