Who knew that by saying “yes” to guest hosting on Live with Regis and Kelly, that Dancing With the Stars judge, Carrie Ann Inaba would also be saying “yes!” to an engagement ring and marriage proposal?! Inaba, who was filling in for a vacationing Kelly Ripa, opened the show by talking about the current season of DWTS. The conversation quickly turned however, to all of the rumors that Inaba and boyfriend of two years, Jesse Sloan, were engaged. Although she admitted to mentioning in a recent interview that she was planning a summer wedding, the truth was that the couple wasn’t engaged. For further proof, Inaba then flashed her ring finger for all to see that she wasn’t sporting an engagement ring.
Later in the show, guest Jake Gyllenhaal got in on the surprise by presenting Inaba with a mock engagement ring. At the close of the show, Regis pretended to answer a question from an audience member who was asking what the perfect way to propose to his girlfriend would be. That was Sloan’s cue, as the lights dimmed and live violinists arrived on stage to serenade Inaba while he presented her with a 2.5 carat princess cut diamond engagement ring by Rafinity and asked for her hand in marriage. She of course said “yes!” and can now begin planning that summer wedding she had already been talking about. Wonder if any of the DWTS cast will be there to perform a routine during the reception?
