Barely Worn Engagement Ring for Sale!!

Weddings are expensive.  Many people make a good living planning weddings.  In most cases, the bride-to-be doesn’t make a profit from her wedding, in fact she probably loses money…except for Rena Hope Friedman.  Rena, 41, is being sued by her ex-fiance Roger Adler, 42, for scamming him into an engagement ring which she pawned for nearly $70k.  The couple had been dating for six weeks before Rena started pushing Roger into marriage.  Rena has been engaged in the past, which Roger suspects was only for the ring.  Some states have different laws as to  who the ring belongs to if an engagement is broken off.  Rena is being sued under NY State law, which says that the ring is legally still Roger’s, therefore the court is ruling in his favor.  So ladies, if you’re thinking about hauking your engagement ring, make sure it’s in a state that allows you to.

Get Your Own Celebrity Ring!

Let’s be honest, when a celebrity gets engaged the viewing public in general doesn’t care.  Sure, magazines and the paparazzi have a field day with it, but overall it doesn’t change our lives.  If anything, it’s more disappointing than anything, especially if he/she was attractive and is now being taken off the market.  Most people make a huge deal about the engagement ring and how exotic and unique and expensive it is.  Many people get sucked into buying rings that are supposed to be generic of a certain celebrities at a price that even a high schooler can afford.  If you get roped into buying one of these, then you get what you pay for.  This obviously has no quality.  However, If you want to get a quality ring, then search for something in the Endless Love Collection by Ritani.

Here’s one of the many styles from the collection:

Is Clarity Always Clear?

So it’s finally Spring time! The weather is getting warmer, giving you more opportunities to do things you enjoy outdoors…fishing, hiking, sports…possibly proposing to the girl of your dreams?  If you’ve started engagement ring shopping already, the task can be somewhat overwhelming!  There are many options when deciding on what type of ring to buy.  You should keep in mind what kind of cut you want and the carat of the diamond, if that is in fact what you are going for.  A general rule of thumb is the less color a diamond has, the more expensive it will be.  Don’t allow yourself to be cornered into this type of thinking.  Purchasing a diamond containing color or colorful gemstones is a great way to go!  Ritani has a great selection of colorful diamond engagement rings from our Masterwork collection:

Engagement Rings Rock! How does price relate?

Some couples cringe at the idea of  engagement rings costing less than $1,000, while other couples refuse to consider anything over $1,000. Engagement ring prices vary widely, from simple, small rings with price tags under $100 to hefty designer creations using rare stones that may cost $1 million or more. How much a couple spends depends on what they feel comfortable with. For example, a groom-to-be may want to make a statement about how well he can provide for his future wife, and therefore he’d prefer to seek out more expensive rings. A woman who works with her hands frequently and knows the ring may become damaged, however, may prefer a more affordable ring that will not be as great a financial blow if it is damaged.

In general, spending either too much or too little on an engagement ring may make either individual feel intimidated, ashamed, or otherwise uncomfortable. The best way to resolve these problems is to discuss budgeting before purchasing the ring. Shopping within that budget rather than first finding gorgeous rings that may be far outside your current financial reach helps avoid disappointment and financial stress.

ANNOUNCING YOUR ENGAGEMENT COULDN’T BE MORE FUN!

People are proposing marriage everyday, and giving their loved one’s a beautiful diamond engagement ring.  These days life passes by so quickly we don’t have time for the mail to be delivered.  There have been some clever ways people have come up with to share with their families and friends about their engagements.  Virtual contact is the norm now, and if you don’t have a presence on the web somewhere people think you are from the Dark Ages.  Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have become platforms for couples who want to shout from the rooftops announcing their engagements.  The internet is bombarded everyday with news of celebrity couples and other famous faces getting married or engaged.  Now the masses are getting their 5 minutes of fame.

There is a big hit on YouTube right now that a very clever couple has produced to ask their wedding guests to save the date.  Which is a way to announce your engagement instantly by emailing the links to contacts in your address book.  A couple named Jeff and Erin have made a movie trailer parody featuring bits like Indiana Jones and the Matrix.  These two are a clever couple and seem to really be in a fun relationship and want to really show how much fun they have together.

For those of you who don’t have the access to producing such an elaborate video, check out Announce Your Engagement on the web and make a video of you and your favorite girl or guy and send to all of your loved ones in a really fun and easy way.  Once you slip that engagement ring on her finger and she jumps for joy and screams ‘YES’ get online and choose your favorite photos of you and create an eCard that will animate you dancing in a setting of your choice.  Are you two beach bums?  Well there is a beach scene and tropical music to dance to.  Or maybe the two of you are more refined and enjoy a nice tuxedo and dance the Tango, there is something for you as well.  Whatever you choose, have fun and make sure to share with the world how happy and in love you are!

Carrie Underwood Flashes her BLING!

While attending a hockey game her fiancé Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators was playing in, Carrie Underwood was showing off her diamond engagement ring.  Mike had proposed to Carrie on Sunday evening after they had dated for a year.  The couple is very excited about this new step in their future together.  They were very private about their relationship, and considering the lyrics to at least one of her songs it didn’t seem that she was even involved.  Now that their relationship is public, people have connected the dots in regards to some of her other songs lyrics.  Carrie referred to their romance in the liner notes of her latest album ‘Play On.’ “I love you so much!” she wrote to Fisher. “You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day.”

Mark is a very lucky guy to have gotten together with such a special girl.  I hope this relationship can stand the pressures of Hollywood and keep it real for their own happiness.  Good luck to the happy couple!!!  The wedding date has not been announced yet, but i’ll keep you posted!!!

No more Engagement Eings for Hollywood Actresses says Mickey Rourke!

Mickey Rourke

Mickey Rourke

Wedding bands couldn’t keep them together, at least this is what Entertainment Daily is reporting.

Having made it through an emotionally scarring divorce from his marriage to Wild Orchid star Carre Otis, Mickey Rourke is calling it quits on getting involved with actresses from now on.

After he was arrested for spousal abuse in 1994 things went sour for the couple and although the charges against Rourke were dropped, as a result of a subsequent reconciliation, the pair however failed to patch things up and in 1998 a divorce was finalised. Time, as it would seem appropriate, had given him another chance to focus again on his acting career and not on engagement rings for a while!

Now as he is poised to co-star in a couple of up and coming films with Hollywood beauties Megan Fox and Eva Green, Rourke is  saying he will not be “tempted to romance or live with another movie star actress no matter what they look like, saying, “I’m working opposite Megan Fox and Eva Green next, and I’m certainly not complaining. But I’ll tell you, once bitten…”
