Jason Castro has a lot of great things happening for him this year.  He has a new album being released in the coming months and life couldn’t be sweeter….so he decided he should have someone to share his happiness with.  Back in August he and his girlfriend Mandy Mayall were seen shopping for a designer engagement ring in together.

The pair celebrated Halloween by dressing as Beauty and the Beast and went to a college football game in Oklahoma.  Little did she know this was the day he was going to pop the question.  In a very romantic and traditional way he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.  Maybe they can have some fun and go to RITANI to use Announce Your Engagement to let their family and friends know about the good news!

What a sweet couple and I hope they live ‘happily ever after’ as the fairy tale of their lives begin.

Bardem and Cruz engaged?

Us Weekly is reporting that Hollywood heartthrobs Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are engaged, but they are also saying that the couple is keeping the engagement very “hush hush”.

Reports are coming in mentioning that Bardem 40 and Cruz 35 are indeed planning on walking down the aisle together but at this time there are no details about when and where the nups will take place. Cruz says she is very interested in starting a family and having kids but that marriage is not necessarily on the top of the list.

Back in August she told Britain’s Psychologies magazine that she wasn’t exactly ready for marriage saying, “I believe in family, love and children. I want to have babies one day but not right now. When I do it I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life.”

So question is did she get a designer engagement ring? Sources are not saying anything since news of the likely engagement is being filtered down. It is obvious however that the

couple is serious since a close friend of Bardem and Cruz did tell The New York Daily News’ Rush & Molloy that the couple are in fact informing  friends that “they will be getting married.”

Well engagement ring or not we hope the very best for them.

Jake and Reese

On Wednesday Reese Witherspoon was spotted in LA wearing what looked like a gold designer engagement ring according photos snapped by Paparazzi.

But according to Access Hollywood, Reese is not engaged to boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal and the bling in question is not a designer engagement ring.

A source said, “Reese looked delighted, and she was definitely showing off the ring. She kept holding her finger up for people to see, she even flashed it around when she was getting in her car.”

The couple, who met on the set of the 2007 film “Rendition,” have been fending off marriage rumors for quite a while. This is not the first time it has been reported the couple-who began dating in 2007-are planning to marry. Earlier this year, Jake was spotted ring shopping in New York. In March, it was claimed Reese removed a sparkly band during a photo shoot as she didn’t want people to know she was planning to walk down the aisle.

Could Jake be working on surprising Reese anytime soon, or are we going to have to keep speculating?!

Only a week after they announced their engagement, Zooey and Ben tied the knot!!  He gave her a stunning 3-carat diamond enegagement ring last December to start, and they had an intimate impromptu wedding outside of Seattle this weekend.  I think this is a really fun match-up of an off-beat actress, who we have seen in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy amongst others, and an indie musician from Death Cab for Cutie.  They seem very sweet and I hope they have a lot of fun in their new life together.  As they already perform music together they will probably have a harmonious marriage.  I’m sure there are a lot of guys out their who are pretty bummed to hear of this news as she is such a pretty and talented girl.  Congratulations you two!!!!

Sara Rue, known for her roles in Less then Perfect and the new series Eastwick, has taken on a new role….fianceé!  She’s gotten engaged to teacher Kevin Price, when the couple went for a hike this weekend before sitting down to dinner in Malibu.

“As the sun was setting they brought the bill,” Sara describes “I said, ‘Let me treat you to dinner because you planned the whole day’, and he said ‘No I’m going to get dinner because it would be weird if I let you pay since I’m about to ask you to marry me.”

What a sweet beginning to what we can hope to be a sweet marriage.  Sara seems to be riding high these days with this news and her upcoming series making its debut this fall.  Good luck to the happy couple! I will be keeping a lookout for sightings of the engagement ring!

This weekend Alyssa Milano exchanged wedding rings with fiance/agent David Bugliari.  They have been engaged since December ‘08, when he proposed to her with a gorgeous cushion-cut diamond engagement ring.  Alyssa and David gathered with many of their family and friends to share in the celebration, having a very casual dinner where they were able to enjoy their Italian family traditions.  She tweeted about the day sharing “Happiest. Day. Of. My. Life”.  Good luck to the happy couple, hopefully this one will be the one to stick for Alyssa.

It seems that we hear about celebrity engagements everyday.  Many of the proposals come with designer engagement rings, but which ones make a statement.  Of course you can gauge it by the price or the size, but these are celebrities and can afford to out-do each other in that respect, so these rings need to have a certain oomph! to make them memorable.
These days everyone wants to be unique and stand out in the crowd, and the Hollywood celebrities have the means and the connections to have truly exquisite rings designed for them.  One of the hottest trends to catch on recently is COLOR!  Fancy colored diamonds, as well as other precious gems have made there way into the engagement ring arena in a big way.

Carmen Electra has recently been given a 2 carat black diamond solitaire engagement ring.  This is a great choice to represent her relationship with a rocker, and black is beautiful!

Heidi Klum is on the next level with her 10ct canary diamond designer engagement ring given to her by Seal.  This is one bright and shining gem that can light up a room, just like Heidi!

The bottom line on Reality “Love” shows is that most Americans are pushovers for a juicy love story especially one that is fraught with challenges, upsets and even disasters. Sounds kind of like a video game in the making, no? Well that’s precisely what Warner Bros. Entertainment and Ludia Inc. have in mind. It’s sort of like the marrying of two American obsessions, Reality TV and video gaming, only in this “match-made-in-heaven” there is no real-life engagement ring!

According to buddytv.com, Warner Bros. and Ludia Inc. have decided to bring the reality TV dating show to a whole different level. Although it is unsure exactly when the games will be available, the news wires are saying that the worldwide licensing and distribution arrangement has decided to bring the Bachelor and the Bachelorette theme to the video game platform.

Now, how will this work? Do we get to pick our brides and grooms? Do we get to choose the engagement ring? Can it be a designer engagement ring? Can we pick the dress? How about the tux? What about the proposal, can we set that up?

Well, if you were ever afraid of real life rejection get ready for the video game version of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The best part is that if you don’t like the match-up, just hit RESET! Game over.

Cushion-Cut Diamond Engagement Ring

How sure can you be that your girl will love the ring you pick?  If she is Ivanka Trump with her own line of designer engagement rings then it will be a snap!  Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump, has announced her engagment to her boyfriend and publisher Jared Kushner.

The announcement was made via Twitter, where Ivanka exclaimed, “I got engaged last night,  truly the happiest day of my life!!!”  Jared surprised her with a 5 carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring, from her own signature line.  They are both very excited to be getting married, as well as Donald who says “they make a magnificent couple”.  This seems like a perfect match being that they hail from prominent families who are both in real estate.  The two are ambitious and will be able to handle the stress of being very important people.  Next we must keep an eye out for the wedding bands, as I know it will be as spectacular as this diamond engagement ring.

A final rose and an engagement ring were handed out yesterday as another season of the Bachelorette came to a dramatic close. But did this one really meet with the likes of a fairytale ending or is this setting up to be just another hot tabloid downer?

Jillian Harris chose Ed Swiderski after breaking TWO hearts during last night’s season finale of the Bachelorette.  First, she rejected Kiptyn, the guy that a majority of viewers believed was a sure thing for her. Next she (again) rejected Reid who shook things up by returning at the last minute to profess his undying love and admitting that he screwed up by not coming right out and bearing his true feelings for her earlier in the season.

In the end however, Ed was the guy who stopped, dropped and popped the question and rolled out an eye popping designer engagement ring and ultimately won her heart- now the countdown to their wedding (or breakup) begins!

Well, what do you think will happen to them? I mean haven’t we seen this sort of formula before? I am not so sure that everyone out there is convinced that Ed was the right pick. But, hey, you never know! Maybe we haven’t seen the last of Kiptyn..  What are your thoughts?
