Ritani Featured in Inside Weddings

One of the most popular past times for the not-yet-engaged and those just engaged brides, is to plan their dream wedding.  With websites like Pinterest and Polyvore and magazines such as Martha Stewart Weddings and the Knot, brides are fully prepared for when asked the ever important question.  Inside Weddings is also a great publication for brides to find their ideal dress, the perfect wedding band to accompany their engagement ring and popular favor ideas.  The Inside Weddings Fall 2011 issue featured a Ritani Endless Love engagement ring.  The Inside Wedding Winter 2012 issue also featured a pair of Ritani Floral stud earrings.  When planning the overall look for your wedding, Ritani is perfect for finding the ideal pair of earrings, bracelet and pendant necklace to accompany your engagement ring and wedding band.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Chances are you’ve heard the term before, but what happens when it’s time to find yours? Though to some this may seem like a silly tradition, brides have lived by it for centuries. Even if you’re not the most traditional bride out there, this can be a fun way to make your special day even more meaningful! There are endless options, but here I have compiled my favorites for each of these “wedding commandments.”

“Something Old” represents continuity with the bride’s family and with the past. You’re entering a new chapter in your life by starting your own family, but isn’t it nice to bring a piece of the one you came from with you along the way? My favorite something old would have to be: a piece of fabric from your past either sewn into your gown or used as a wrap for your bouquet. This could be anything from an old childhood doll’s dress to a piece of a family member’s wedding gown.

Planning Your Pinterest Wedding

So, you just got engaged? Congratulations!  Now, once the shock and excitement subsides, you realize that you have an entire wedding to plan. Whether the thought of that leaves you anxiously awaiting your first brainstorming session, or dreading the process entirely, Pinterest can be your virtual best friend until the day those rings are exchanged.

If you haven’t heard of Pinterest yet, it is a two-year-old social bookmarking site — which allows users to collect and share things they like on the Internet. Pinterest is an easy way to make planning a wedding more manageable. It’s like ripping the pages out of wedding magazines and taping them to your bulletin board — but digitally. Even better, each picture is typically linked to a site where you can buy the styles you want, learn DIY crafting tips and become informed about the latest trends. Friends and other Pinterest followers can also leave comments and feedback to make the whole planning process more interactive.

My advice is to sign up and get acquainted with the site. There is an entire category dedicated exclusively to weddings and events. If you don’t enjoy a quick “pinning” session (which I am almost positive you will) then hopefully you will have at least discovered a few great ideas during your quick exploration of the world of Pinterest wedding planning. Happy pinning!

First Step: Plan the Wedding, Second Step: Find a Groom?

We all know that girl. The girl who has been planning her wedding since the day she learned what a wedding was. Let’s face it; some of us ARE that girl. There is certainly nothing wrong with dreaming about your special day and making casual notes when you see something that you would love to have in your wedding, but is it possible to plan too much, too soon? According to a “single bridezilla”, the answer is NO. In fact, to her, it’s not out of the ordinary to have your entire wedding planned before you even meet the groom!

Single Bridezilla: a woman who plans every detail of her big day before she’s even engaged.

As seen in a recent Good Morning America segment, these groom-less gals have chosen everything from their bridal gowns to their honeymoon destinations. While being so well prepared may make an often times stressful process a bit easier, getting too ahead of yourself may make the process that much harder in the long run. Keep in mind: change is a constant theme of life; something you once loved for your wedding could have you saying, “What was I thinking?!” when it’s actually time for you to tie the knot.

So, is this whole concept just another fad? Probably not. With online inspiration boards such as Pinterest becoming a virtual hub for wedding planning, it looks like the ”single bridezilla” is here to stay. For the women out there who find this sounding all too familiar, let’s hope a beautiful Ritani engagement ring will be the catalyst to set all of your wedding plans into motion!
