Kim Kardashian Has Finally Found Her Prince Charming AND Her Perfect Engagement Ring

Over the years, Kim Kardashian has not been shy about admitting how much she wanted to be married with children. Well Kim’s sisters were sure to do both before their sister. Older sister Kourtney, had son Mason, with boyfriend Scott Disick and younger sister Khloe, married LA Laker forward, Lamar Odom after dating for only a short time. Everyone, including Kim herself, thought that she would be wearing an engagement ring from longtime boyfriend, Reggie Bush, but the couple called it quits last year after dating for a number of years. The E! reality star and mogul had briefly been married at age 19, when she ran off to Vegas and exchanged wedding bands and vows with music produces Damon Thomas. After only a few years of being married, the couple called it quits and later divorced.

After her breakup from Bush, Kim moved to New York to focus on herself and help launch DASH Soho with sister Kourtney. Upon moving to NY, Kardashian found herself at the center of swirling rumors that connected the reality star to everyone from Kanye West to Halle Berry’s ex, Gabriel Aubry. Although she was seen out on the town having a great time at various NYC hotspots and enjoying her singlehood, Kardashian gave into her penchant for dating athletes and found herself cozy with NJ Nets forward, Kris Humphries. After dating for only six months, Humphries decided that it was time to take Kardashian officially off the market with a surprise proposal last week at her Beverly Hills home. Humphries had written “Will You Marry Me?” in red rose petals and was waiting on bended knee when she walked into her bedroom. In complete surprise, Humphries then presented his bride-to-be with a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond engagement ring. Keeping the celebrating going, Humphries had secretly planned a small celebration with Kardashian matriarch, Kris, so that they could share the news with Kim’s close family. Although they have no wedding plans set yet, mom Kris is probably already hard at work to make the day an event to remember. With such an over-the-top engagement ring, how are they going to find a wedding band to match?

Will Cupid’s Arrow Finally Strike The Bachelorette?

After being one of the final three vying for Brad’s heart on last season’s The Bachelor, Ashley Hebert found herself leaving South Africa without an engagement ring or proposal from Womack. Having put her insecurities aside, she then decided to give looking for love another try as we saw on last night’s season premier of The Bachelorette. With a new look and a new attitude, Hebert waited for the arrival of her 25 suitors. Before waiting outside the mansion for her potential princes to arrive, Hebert expressed concern that not all of the contestants were there for the right reasons, explaining that a contestant from last season who she was close with in the house warned her about single dad, Bentley, who was supposedly there to promote his own business and not interested in finding love. Limo after limo arrived with every type of gentleman suitor, all fighting to win the attention and affection of Hebert.

Things quickly headed in the direction of a college frat party, as the drinks started flowing and each man tried to one up the others by trying to get Ashley’s attention during each quick meeting. In true frat party fashion, the night quickly ended for shy contestant Tim, who passed out after having too much to drink and challenging mask wearing, Jeff to a fight. Ashley decided to give Ryan P. the first impression rose of the season and sent another seven contestants packing, including Anthony, the pseudo suave butcher from NJ. Bentley has already deemed himself this season’s villain, explaining to the cameras that he would have preferred that Emily be The Bachelorette and that he’s on the show to win and will do anything it takes, including playing up how much he missed his daughter back home. Of the remaining eighteen men, will Ashley follow in the footsteps of past Bachelorettes, and receive an engagement ring proposal at the end of the season or will she take after Brad and have to try numerous seasons of the show to find true love? Speaking of Brad, it is being reported that his troubled relationship with Emily is officially over and that she has been spotted out and about without his engagement ring. Could it be that their fairytale romance is truly over or was this merely a publicity stunt to hype up the seventh season of The Bachelorette?

Everything’s Better on the French Riviera – A Recap of the Cannes Film Festival

With awards season well behind us in the States, it’s nice to have the Cannes Film Festival to pull us out of the winter doldrums. Cannes is essentially the official “kick-off” to awards season, as many of the Oscar frontrunners are first debuted at during the week long festivities. Along with numerous movie premiers, there are plenty of formal fêtes and fashion shows to keep everyone busy during their stay. The event brings out many of Hollywood’s elite, international socialites, and fashionistas alike who are all adorning the latest in fashion trends that look amazing next to the gorgeous Riviera backdrop.

One of the big events of the week is the amfAR gala that always proves to be one of the most start studded events of the week. One star who made sure she was dressed to impress was Freida Pinto, who was accompanied by her boyfriend, Dev Patel. Pinto was dressed to the nines in a black sequins Lanvin dress and Chopard diamond drop earrings. Although there was no visible engagement ring on her finger, the couple had to yet again deny the wedding rumors. Also showcasing her undeniable style at the gala was Festival Juror, Uma Thurman, who chose a figure hugging, Chanel Haute Couture grey gown paired with a pair of simple Chopard drop earrings. Victoria’s Secret model, Alessandra Ambrosio chose a detailed Robert Cavalli gown that matched the color of the water along the famous French coast. Beautifully accenting her gown was the dramatic pair of drop earrings and matching bangle bracelets that helped solidify her status as one of the runway’s elite.

Since the purpose of the festival is to showcase films for the upcoming year, movie premieres are the main attraction and seem to be more like fashion shows than movie viewings. Milla Jovovich channeled the 1940s with her Prada red and white polo style gown for The Conquest premiere. Since she is the new face of Jacob & Co., she was sure to pair her frock with a pair of Jacob & Co. drop earrings and a Jacob & Co. watch. Also seen on the model turned actress was her wedding band from husband Paul W.S. Anderson. Kirsten Dunst looked anything but melancholy at the premiere of her new film, Melancholia. The actress chose a black and emerald green textured, Rodarte halter gown for the occasion, which she paired with a Bulgari cuff bracelet and pair of Bulgari drop earrings. Newly single, Bar Rafaeli flaunted her newly single status with a figure forming Robert Cavalli gown and Chopard diamond ring and pair of Chopard diamond drop earrings at the premiere of The Beaver. With the end of such a magical festival, we now have a number of great movies to look forward to as well as another great season of award shows.

An Angel and a Rockstar – What a Celebrity Wedding!

Country singers, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton weren’t the only celebrities to exchange wedding bands over the weekend. Caleb Followill, who is the lead singer of the band, Kings of Leon married his Victoria’s Secret model fiancée, Lily Aldridge, last Thursday in Montecito, California. The couple chose to exchange their vows at the San Ysidro Ranch and invited only family, which included Followill’s brothers and band mates. Aldridge looked like a true angel in her strapless Vera Wang gown with layers of Chantilly and Followill kept it classic with a charcoal Gucci suit. Followill presented his bride-to-be with a diamond engagement ring last Fall after the pair had been dating for four years after first meeting at the Coachella Music Festival. This musical royal court is now complete, as the King has now found his queen.

Also tying the knot over the weekend was half of the Sister, Sister duo, actress Tamera Mowry. The actress had been dating Adam Housley, who is a Fox News Correspondent on and off again for the past few years with Housley previously presenting Mowry with a diamond engagement ring. The couple reunited last year and during a trip to Venice, Italy, Housley presented Mowry yet again with another engagement ring. The pair exchanged vows and wedding bands in front of 300 guests on Saturday at an inn and vineyard in Napa, California. The bride chose a Carolina Herrera gown to say her “I Do’s” while the groom and his groomsmen wore tuxedos with Converse sneakers. The couple chose to honor their parents during the ceremony by presenting them with roses. In true Hollywood fashion, the bride had two additional outfit changes, a Dolce & Gabbana two piece for the sit-down reception and then a Herve Legera dress for the dance-filled after party. With both Tia and Tamera now married and Tia expecting, I wonder if the old saying is true – do twins really do everything together!

A Perfect Ending for a True Country Romance

With their romance right from the pages of a perfect country song, country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert made it official this weekend. The couple began dating back in 2006 and was quickly spotted side by side at every awards show under the sun. Shelton was ever the gentleman when it came to proposing. He first made sure to get the permission of Lambert’s father before presenting her with an engagement ring. He then proposed when they were taking a leisurely walk through the woods near their Oklahoma home.

The couple chose the Don Strange Ranch in Texas for the location of their nuptials this past Saturday. Lambert went the road of tradition when choosing her wedding gown, wearing her mother’s dress instead of going with a name brand designer. The couple exchanged wedding rings and vows in front of 550 of their closest family and friends, which included singers, Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson, Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley and Charles Kelly. Immediately following the ceremony, Lambert took to her Twitter account to post “I’m married to my best friend!” “Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter.” Besides their honeymoon, all that’s left for them to do is to release a duet!

Celebrity Vow Renewals: What Happened to Just Giving an Eternity Band?!

There are many ways to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Some sentimental couples choose to take the top tier of their wedding cake out of the freezer to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Some grooms commemorate each anniversary with giving their bride an eternity band each year. Other couples choose to follow the traditional gift ideas that correspond with each year of marriage. For example, the traditional anniversary gift to celebrate the second year of marriage is gifts done in cotton or straw. For some couples, the traditional anniversary gifts are not enough and the only way that they celebrate is by renewing their wedding vows. This is especially common in the world of celebrity couples, as some have made it a simple, yearly practice while for others it’s another excuse for an over the top event.

One celebrity couple who makes it a point to celebrate every wedding anniversary with renewing their vows is the power pair of Heidi Klum and Seal. Seal presented Klum with a 10 carat yellow cushion oval diamond engagement ring back in December of 2005 while they were vacationing in Whistler, British Columbia. The couple then exchanged vows and wedding bands during the Spring of 2005 in Mexico. Instead of exchanging lavish anniversary gifts each year, Klum and Seal exchange their wedding vows in front of a group of close friends and family. This year was no exception, as the couple invited 100 guests to a mask themed party held at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach Estate where the couple exchanged vows to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary. Klum has been very vocal about renewing their vows stating, “It’s our time – a lovely family time. It’s about remembering this moment of love we gave to each other and reinforcing it.”

Another celebrity pair that has made it a tradition to renew their wedding vows to celebrate every anniversary is Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. Nick proposed back in 2008 on the rooftop of Carey’s NYC apartment where he presented the songstress with a gorgeous 17 carat diamond engagement ring. They later married in a secret Caribbean wedding in the Summer of 2008. Although they spend each anniversary renewing their wedding vows, Cannon also presents Carey with an over the top gift. For their first anniversary, Cannon gave his bride a Jack Russell Terrier puppy. For their second wedding anniversary, Cannon presented Carey with a white gold “Ring Pop” ring encrusted with a sea of white diamonds and pink sapphires. Celebrating the couple’s third anniversary, it was Mariah who did the giving to Nick as she gave birth to their twins on their actual April 30^th anniversary. The following day, Reverend Al Sharpton helped the couple renew their wedding vows for the third time in Carey’s LA hospital room. Since Cannon presents Carey with a new diamond ring every year, this year’s bauble is going to have to be quite the sparkler!

Also choosing to celebrate their anniversary by renewing their wedding vows are the stars of “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. The couple, who have recently been fighting off numerous rumors that they’re on the verge of divorcing, decided to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary with a renewal ceremony to help put those rumors to rest. Dean presented Tori with a diamond and sapphire engagement ring on Christmas Eve in 2005 while they were enjoying a horse drawn carriage ride in Toronto. Because it was a second marriage for both of them, they wed in a private ceremony on an island in Fiji in May of 2006. In addition to renewing their vows, McDermott presented Spelling with a Neil Lane darkened diamond eternity band, which will match her Neil Lane antique diamond wedding band. Whether trying to squash divorce rumors or to commemorate that special day in their relationship where they first said “I Do,” celebrity couples have made the renewal of wedding vows the in vogue way to celebrate an anniversary.

Amazing Race Winners, Race to the Altar!

How can winners, Meghan Rickey and Cheyne Whitney, even begin to plan a honeymoon that will top all of the places that they visited together during their season of the Amazing Race?! The couple, who got engaged in 2010, exchanged vows over the weekend at the Hard Rock San Diego in front of 200 of their closest friends and family. Rickey and Whitney became engaged last year after she had found a picture and message in BRIDES magazine from him asking her to marry him. He later presented her with a platinum, princess-cut diamond engagement ring. Among some of the guests were three teams from the Amazing Race who they competed against including, Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho, Sam and Dan McMillen and Brian Kleinschmidt and Ericka Dunlap.

The bride wore a strapless gown with jeweled bodice and the groom wore a grey suit with slate blue tie to match the bridesmaids’ gowns. The couple exchanged ArtCarved wedding bands that each showcased some bling; Rickey’s wedding band was a platinum diamond band that matched her engagement ring while Whitney’s is a platinum wedding band featuring channel-set diamonds. After celebrating their first dance to Bob Marley’s “Is This Love,” the couple presented their guests with a lavish gourmet dinner complete with desserts compliments of Sweet Cheeks Bakery.

Meghan and Cheyne aren’t the first contestants to find love on the Amazing Race. Although they were given the title of “Newly Dating Couple” on the show’s seventeenth season, Chad Waltrip and Stephanie Smith became engaged on the show. Waltrip had been carrying around his mother’s diamond engagement ring and presented it to Smith before completing one of their challenges. The couple exchanged vows and wedding bands during a weeknight ceremony in Florida in front of a small group of family and friends. The couple is now expecting their first child. With all of the challenges that these couples faced during the Amazing Race, married life is going to seem like a breeze!

Drum Role Please….The Grand Prize Winners of the Ritani Real Moments Campaign Have Been Announced!

The Bold and Beautiful: 2011 Met Gala Filled with Glamorous Dresses and Eye Catching Jewelry

With The Golden Globes and Oscars but a mere distant memory, it was time to get dressed up and put on the dancing shoes for just one more event. The Costume Institute’s Met Gala has long been considered the event of the year, bringing out Hollywood’s elite, fashion industry elite, socialites, journalists and even politicians along, of course, with the world’s most recognized fashion designers. Last night’s Costume Institute’s Met Gala was a great celebration of the life and work of the late designer, Alexander McQueen. The star studded event helped bring more color and life to the already spring setting in NYC.

One of the trends that were seen at last night’s soiree was neutral toned dresses. Ever the fashionista, Sarah Jessica Parker paid tribute to her close friend, McQueen, with a high necked glittering dress that she paired with Fred Leighton drop earrings and green pumps. Actress Ashley Greene traded in her vampire digs for a Donna Karan blush tulle gown complete with mermaid train. Greene chose to finish her look with a dramatic pair of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings and a diamond cuff bracelet. The always stunning Gwyneth Paltrow supported friend, Stella McCartney with a figure hugging nude long sleeved crystal embellished gown. As she didn’t have enough sparkle, Paltrow completed her look with a pair of Fred Leighton earrings and of course her diamond engagement ring.

Since the Met Gala is considered the Super Bowl of fashion events, one of the other trends that is typically seen is over the top, out of the box designs gracing the red carpet and last night didn’t disappoint. Singer Beyonce wore a figure hugging black and gold embellished Emilio Pucci gown that she paired with a pair of Lorraine Schwartz earrings. I guess her engagement ring and wedding band from husband, Jay Z didn’t quite match her outfit. Demi Moore was fit to be a guest of the royal wedding with her black feathered Prabal Gurung gown complete with Philip Treacy matching hat. Completing her look was the eye catching pair of Cartier diamond drop earrings. Ever the material girl, Madonna was dripping in Cartier, a diamond necklace, a pair of diamond drop earrings, diamond ring and plethora diamond bracelets to be exact, which she paired with a sleek aqua Stella McCartney gown. The Met Gala was a great tribute to a legendary designer and a great way to kick off the spring season. It’s hard to believe that we now need to wait until awards season kicks off again for another over the top fashion event!
