Everyone knows that recent tradition tells men that a proposal screams for a diamond engagement ring. But what if you have already tied the knot? Are there other times in a woman’s life when a diamond is an appropriate gift?
If you ask me, a diamond is always an appropriate gift—but I may be biased because I am a lifelong diamond aficionado. Below I have listed when I think it is especially appropriate to give a gift of diamond jewelry to the woman in your life.
1) The birth of a child. What better way to commemorate the most significant event in your life as a parent? Show her your appreciation with an elegant diamond pendant. Bonus point if the baby is born in the month of April.
2) A big promotion at work. There is nothing that says “I’ve made it” like a pair of diamond stud earrings.
3) On Valentines Day. Skip the flowers—they will wither in a few days. Give a gift of diamond heart jewelry; she will remember that Valentine’s Day forever.
4) Your anniversary. Maybe when you first got engaged you were just starting out and could only afford a modest ring. Knock her socks off with a 3- stone past, present, future diamond ring.
5) A big birthday. Whether she’s turning the big 3-0 or the big 8-0, a woman expects a little extra pampering on her milestone birthdays.

On Monday while dining out at the Little Door restaurant in LA, Tara Reid received what we thought she already got. Michael proposed to her over dinner and she happily accepted. She has been dating Michael Axtman, an internet entrepreneur, for about a year, and was seen wearing a very large pink diamond engagement ring while on vacation in St. Tropez in the fall. Apparently this was not an engagement ring.
This is very good news for the starlet and possibly good timing for a Playboy issue coming out soon with her as the feature. Either way congratulations! This is her second attempt at marriage as she was engaged for a time to Carson Daly in 2001.
Sources who represent Reid say that she received a “beautiful round brilliant cut diamond engagement ring. Tara was so happy and the other patrons (in the restaurant) clapped and yelled Congratulations” to the newly engaged couple. They are planning a summer wedding but no date has been set yet. I will keep an eye out for the engagement ring pictures.

While shopping in downtown Los Angeles, Katy and Russell had received a parking ticket. Their misfortune is our gain as we got a good look at the diamond engagement ring that Russell had given Katy.
It is not what I had expected in style for this woman. It is a very pretty vintage diamond engagement ring, but I had envisioned a very modern, contemporary style for this trendy lady. Who am I to forecast though as I don’t even know her! As long as she wears it with pride and loves it the rest of our opinions don’t mean squat.

It has been confirmed that Canadian singer Michael Bublé has given an engagement ring to Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato in November 2009.
While visiting her family in Argentina, Michael took the opportunity to propose to Luisana in front of her family and she excitedly accepted the diamond engagement ring. Once they left her homeland he whisked her away to a friends waterfront mansion on Maui where they celebrated their new engagement.
Michael’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, confirmed that the he proposed to Luisana in November. The actress plays Buble’s love interest in the music video for “Haven’t Met You Yet.” Apparently he has, and it has been said that they are ecstatic, adorable, in love and laugh all the time.
What a sweet couple! Good luck to these lovebirds for a long and happy marriage. I am really interested to see the diamond engagement ring he gave her and what designer he chose.

While on a modeling job in the Caribbean, on the private island of Mustique, and celebrating her 36th birthday, Kate Moss had a pleasant surprise. Her boyfriend since 2007 asked her to stay where she was until he arrived. This was alone a great treat for her as their schedules keep them apart often.
Jamie Hince of The Kills, had presented her with a diamond engagement ring and proposed to her in the paradise setting. He had some help from Sir Philip Green, her boss at Topshop, to choose the perfect diamond engagement ring to present to her.
What kind of diamond engagement ring would be befitting a supermodel like Kate Moss? I will be keeping my eyes peeled for the pictures. I hope this engagement holds water and it actually results in exchanging wedding bands. We will really just have to see.

In Hollywood rumors are always flying about couples hooking up and breaking up. Recently we have been hearing a few near-proposal rumors.
It’s being said that on-again off-again couple Megan Fox and Brian Austin-Green are on-again and may have re-ignited their engagement. While tweeting over the weekend, Brian was asked about his marital status and he said, “Engaged and have a son from my previous relationship.” He then indicated he was sitting next to Megan at the time. So to deduce they are engaged. Where is this diamond engagement ring?? I will keep a lookout but if I were her I wouldn’t confirm these rumors without flashing that engagement ring.
At the Golden Globes, George Clooney was holding tight to his squeeze Elisabetta Canalis. He made sure to include her in all of his red carpet interviews and even held the umbrella over her while he got soaked. What a gentleman! Anyway, he has been heard saying she’s “the one”. He has also been quoted as saying he is a fan of marriage….in the movies. So who knows if they may not make it official but still be exclusive. George is a rogue spirit and it’s hard to see him conforming to the usual formalities of relationships. This is another one we will have to keep a lookout for the diamond engagement ring to know if it is for real!

There have been many rumors circulating about Derek Jeter and his love life throughout his career. One of the rumors that just wouldn’t die was that his relationship with Minka Kelly was more serious than they let on. The talk about him giving her an engagement ring has been swirling since August ‘09. According the the New York Post, they have officially confirmed the rumors and have already set a date!! The famous Yankee’s shortstop would never jeopordize his availability to play in the World Series, so they have set the wedding to fall two days after the last game of the series would be played. November 5, 2010 is the fateful day when Jeter officially denounces his bachelorhood.
What a team player, to not let his personal life get in the way of another Yankee Series opportunity. I also think he is being hopeful of the fact they will not need all 7 games to win the series, otherwise his wedding will directly conflict with the parade. I’m sure the whole team will be invited to witness them exchanging wedding bands.
It has been revealed that the wedding will be held at the same castle in Long Island as Kevin Jonas has just had his wedding recently. I wonder if the venue will change now that is has leaked. Otherwise, they may have another Braniston wedding fiasco with helicopters hovering to get that million dollar shot.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of guitarist Rick Dufay of Aerosmith, and she is an actress for both TV and film. No diamond engagement ring pictures have surfaced yet, but I am sure she will start wearing it now that the cat is out of the bag. I wonder what designer engagement ring Derek chose for his lucky lady, was it a Ritani ring perhaps?

While performing solo at the Wasted Space nightclub in the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel, AJ McLean proposed to his girlfriend Rochelle in the middle of his show on stage! He had pulled out the ring from his pocket and got down on one knee to present her with the diamond engagement ring. She happily accepted with a hug right then. It turns out it was AJ’s 32nd birthday the following day and they had much to celebrate that night. AJ had purchased the diamond engagement ring at Rocks in the hotel before he went on stage that night.
I don’t know if it was a spur of the moment decision or he just wanted to surprise everyone, but the band and his now fianceé were very surprised and happy when it happened. He had said to band members that he intended to ask her to marry him but never said when. I guess this was a great way to also announce it to the world!
This looks like it’s going to be a great year for AJ as he is also awaiting the release of a Backstreet Boys Best Of CD at the end of this month.

While vacationing in Jaipur, India (as a Christmas gift to her) Russell proposed marriage to Katy and she accepted. There were rumors circulating before the holidays, but both parties’ PR people have confirmed the engagement on Wednesday. Katy had mentioned to Russell how much she loved the Indian culture so he thought it was the perfect surprise getaway and opportunity to pop the question.
While they were touring the city, they stopped by the Taj Mahal and She Tweeted “He built this for me.” She then likened herself to Alanis Morrisette in the “Thank You” video saying “So when do I start walking the streets naked singing that Alanis song?” How exciting, and what a place to give your special girl an engagement ring!
What a great story about two love crazy people who really feel like they have found their true match! I wish them happiness and longevity for a lifetime together, and to overcome the strife that the stars must endure when dating someone who is also famous.
Still no pictures of the ring, but I will keep an eye out. I am really interested in the type of designer engagement ring Russell chose for Katy. It has to be stunning to be worn by an already stunning lady!
